2022 Be T.R.U.E. - 5K Run/Walk Details

The “Samuel Williams Leadership Foundation” was established to highlight the positive and inspiring character traits in youth.  Sam Williams completed his Sophomore Year at Wootton High School.  Sam was an honor student, outstanding community volunteer, and Eagle Scout, who tragically passed away in June 2013.  The foundation was established to share and continue Sam’s message of being Trustworthy, Responsible, Uplifting, and Enthusiastic.   These traits are highlighted in the   “Be T.R.U.E Leadership Award” at Wootton High School.   The goal of the foundation is to raise funds to support high school students to attend highly regarded leadership Programs.  To date the foundation has awarded over $28,000.00 to Wootton Students who have attended Training programs at American University, George Mason University and Rotary Leadership Conference.   The “Be T.R.U.E. Leadership Award” is hosting its 8th annual 5K run/walk & Wootton Wellness event at Wootton High School on March 19, 2022.   On-line registration is required by Friday, March 4nd, to guarantee a t-shirt for race day which will be in the race packet on pickup day.

Race Details:

·  Date: March 19, 2022

·  Time: 9:00 Event opens to public, Race start time will be 11:00 am

·   Location: Wootton High School at 2100 Wootton Parkway, Rockville, MD 20850

·   Course: The course will start on the Wootton track and go through the parkland in the surrounding area.  No part of the course will be on public roads, so this is a great event for friends and family.

·   Parking: Participants will be directed to park in the upper and lower Wootton Parking Lots.  Volunteers will be present to help direct traffic.

·   Packet Pickup: Will be available for all Wootton Students and Staff on Friday, March 20th in the Commons on site between 11 am and 12:30 pm.    Evening packet pick-up will be available at Wootton High School “Main Lobby” from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm.

The Samuel Williams Leadership Foundation wants to thank you for supporting this important program to train and support future leaders.   The foundation is inspired to “Provide Youth Leadership Opportunities Today”.
